Peggy Young

Peggy has been a resident at Rosewood since March of 2023. When she first came to Rosewood she was shy. Now, she is a regular at many of our activities. She came on the invite of another resident to devotion, stayed on one time for exercise, and is now trying out BINGO. Peggy was born and raised in Walker County, Georgia. She was born in Blowing Springs and then moved to Chickamauga. Peggy and her husband were married for 68 years. They share 3 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Peggy worked as a stay-at-home mother, which is one of the hardest jobs out there. Her favorite hobby was antiquing, and she enjoyed traveling to antique shows with her husband. Peggy also restored antique trunks. By word of mouth, over 5 years, she restored over 100 trunks!

When asked what she loves most about Rosewood, she had this to say: “If I am being honest, I mostly love being here because I do not have to cook.” We can all understand that, Peggy! She said if she could recommend one thing to a new resident it would be this: “Get out and do not stay in your apartment.” Thank you, Peggy, for your kindness and for showing us how you can overcome obstacles!
