3312544Chattanooga-area seniors are looking forward to the holidays. It is a time to reminisce about the excitement experienced as children anticipating presents under the tree on Christmas morning. It’s a time to bond with family over hearty meals and light conversation.

Over the next several weeks, some residents will be traveling great distances to visit with extended family while others will welcome family members to visit with them here at Rosewood. Regardless of the setting, Chattanooga seniors can use this time to share stories about family traditions such as playing games or watching a particular movie each Christmas.

When exchanging gifts, they may wish to put some thought into what a family member wants, which is generated dictated by the recipient’s interests, hobbies, collectibles, or personalizing something simple yet heartfelt. A gift need not be expensive to have value.
Christmas is a time to reflect on the year drawing to a close, to marvel at how fast the grandchildren are growing, and to pass along holiday rituals to the next generation.

Our Rosewood family has several events planned to commemorate the season.

On Dec. 5th, residents will spend the morning with students from Lake View Middle School filling stockings for 100 children at Chambliss Children’s Home and T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital. December 11th is Family Picture Day.

Executive Director Connor Overbeek invites guests of residents to join us at Rosewood on Saturday, Dec. 13th from 1-4 pm. The celebration will feature wonderful entertainment, delicious homemade desserts and Santa Claus there to greet everyone! Afternoon entertainment will be provided by the Lake View ROTC program, the Chattanooga Girls’ Choir, and Ridgedale Baptist Ringers, as well as the Barger Academy Dance Team, Drama Team, Choir, Strings, and Band. Please call (706) 866-4443 to let us know how many from your family will be attending.

On Dec. 22nd, we’ll have our annual Resident Formal Candlelight Dinner at 5 pm for residents only.

From all of us at Rosewood, we wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best for a joyful 2015!
