October was a busy month! We kicked off fall with many fun activities including a pumpkin painting competition, a trip to Ellijay and our Fall Festival.
Residents also enjoyed our Health Fair. We invited various hospice and therapy groups in to share information about their services, promote health and wellness, and have fun games or giveaways for our residents. They had a grip test, blood pressure and pulse oxygen test, ring toss, and even a massage therapist. The staff and residents were so grateful to receive free massages! Residents also received candies, oranges, pens, cups and other cool swag. The vendors also participated in our pumpkin painting competition.
We were able to take some residents to Ellijay for a nice lunch at The Maple Restaurant, at the top of Amicalola Falls, and to the R & A Orchards. The food and views were exquisite. Residents enjoyed the fun and fellowship, and beautiful view. We ate apple pies and reminisced about working on the farm.
Our Fall Festival was a huge hit! We had many volunteers from various hospice groups that helped pull it off. Some of the favorite activities included the bean bag toss, candy corn bowling, and the cakewalk. We even had sugar-free goodies, so everyone could participate!
The Ladies enjoyed our Tea Party last month and are looking forward to having one every month.
The residents continued to enjoy art class, culture class, and our daily exercise, daily devotion, and Bingo. They are becoming bolder in sharing their faith. They are excited to see what the upcoming holiday months will bring.
