This month’s resident spotlight is Fred Tucker, who has lived in Rosewood for 15 months. He has a great smile, a helping hand, and a warm heart for those new and old in the community.
Fred was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, but has lived in the Chattanooga area his entire life. He has an Associate’s Degree and worked in the Redi Mix Concrete industry for 40 years. He was also in the Army for 6 years as part of a Security Agency. Fred shared he worked six days a week and had no time for hobbies, but was a member of the East Lake Lions Club, Masons, Scottish Rites, and Shriners.
Fred was married twice and while he has no biological children of his own, he does have two children who he says adopted him. They have six children between them, who are no doubt a light to Fred’s eyes. He has two cats who live with him at Rosewood and their names are Ruthie and Sara Jo. His smile can be seen for miles, and he has really made strides to help with resident engagement in activities (growing the BINGO table)!
Thank you, Fred, not only for your military service but for always engaging and welcoming residents to our community. This is what Fred had to say about his favorite part of the Rosewood community: “The people, the relationships, and to not be lonely.”
